About Us

My journey to fitness has been a long and winding one, filled with highs and lows, successes and setbacks. It all started when I played football in high school.

I loved the physical demands of the sport and the feeling of pushing myself to the limit.

But after high school, I became increasingly interested in bodybuilding. I wanted to get lean and muscular, and eventually, I even competed on stage.

I was proud of my achievements in bodybuilding. I was very lean and very strong, but unfortunately, my success was short-lived. Eventually, I developed binge eating disorder and stopped strength training altogether. I found myself in a cycle of restrictive eating followed by intense binges, and it took me years to get the disorder under control.

During that time, I experimented with many different methods in an attempt to find a solution. Some of these methods were not necessarily "optimal," but they were fun and helped me stay engaged with fitness.

I tried intermittent fasting, counting macros, CrossFit, circuit training, and many other approaches.

While some of these methods may have helped me in the short term, none of them provided a long-term solution to my problems.

These experiments made me realize that my approach to fitness needed to change. I couldn't keep pushing myself to the brink of physical and mental exhaustion in pursuit of the perfect physique. I needed to find a more sustainable and balanced way of approaching fitness and nutrition.

In 2015, I started my first fitness company Driller Strength and Conditioning. We really focused on the exercise aspect of fitness. We incorporated elements of CrossFit, bodybuilding and powerlifting to give our members a unique experience.

Our members loved the gym. I still get texts from former members!

But honestly, something was missing. I only got about half of them the results they truly wanted.

I closed the gym in 2018 and traveled the United States working at the top gyms in the country. I studied what each was doing well and what they did poorly. I saw the types of clients who were getting results and those who weren't. As I worked at these gyms, I continued to refine my program.

It wasn't until 2021-2022 that I felt like I finally put it all together.

I was getting some of my clients massive results!

I took a step back to see what the change was.

We saw that every single person had 3 things in common:

- They worked out at least 3x/week

- They did the nutrition coaching we offered

- We followed up with them every week to ensure they were getting the results they wanted.

We started R3 Fitness with these concepts as our base. We only have one membership: Our RESULTS Membership. Each client comes at least 3x/week. Each client gets nutrition coaching. And each client gets regular check-ins to make sure they're on track.

Looking back, I realize that my struggles with binge eating disorder were a turning point for me. They forced me to re-evaluate my relationship with food and exercise and find a more sustainable way forward. While it was a difficult journey, it ultimately led me to where I am today, helping others find balance and sustainability in their own fitness journeys.

So, while my past experiences may have been challenging, I'm grateful for them. They taught me important lessons about the dangers of extremes and the importance of finding balance. And now, I'm able to use those lessons to help others on their own journeys to health and wellness.
